Our Special Area Faculty & Staff

Gina Dean, Physical Education
Ms. Dean attended Salisbury State University, graduating with dual Bachelors of Science Degrees in 2000: one in elementary education and the other in physical education.  Later in 2005, she graduated from Salisbury University with a Master's of Education in post-secondary track and has accomplished her plus 30 college credits.  While attending Salisbury, she was a member of the field hockey team where she received numerous recognitions and awards, including the All-American title and NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of Maryland.  In 2013, Ms. Dean was selected as PES teacher of the Year.  In 2014, Ms. Dean was selected as a SHAPE Maryland Simon McNeely award winner.  In 2019, Ms. Dean was selected as SHAPE Maryland's Elementary PE Teacher of the Year.  She is very active in sports, especially field hockey and softball, through coaching and volunteering. Ms. Dean has taught physical education in grades 4-5 at Pocomoke Middle School, in grades 7-8 at Stephen Decatur Middle School, and is currently at Pocomoke Elementary School teaching K-3. In the community, she serves in the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and is the youth leader with Bayside Community Church.

Malcolm Bratcher, Music

Mr. Bratcher attended  Salisbury University, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education in 2017. Mr. Bratcher currently attends Salisbury University for his Masters in Education. Mr. Bratcher is certified in Music grades K-12. Prior to teaching at Pocomoke Elementary School, Mr. Bratcher has had experience student teaching at Snow Hill Middle and being an Educational Assistant at Cedar Chapel Special School in Snow Hill, Maryland. Currently, Mr. Bratcher has been teaching music for 4 years as a newly tenured teacher.  

Adamadia Putsch, Art
Mrs. Putsch is originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she grew up right in Ocean City. She attended Frostburg State University in Western Maryland and received a B.S. in psychology and a B.F.A in fine arts. She is Maryland certified in K-12 Art Education and taught for 2 years in Prince Georges County and one year in Anne Arundel County before moving back to the Eastern Shore. 
This is her 12th year here at Pocomoke Elementary School and each year is better than the last. She is so glad to be a part of the PES community, working with staff and students to create an exciting learning experience for everyone here.  At the elementary level, she strives to align her curriculum with each grade level's reading units as well as incorporating the MD state art standards.  She likes to expose the students to a variety of different materials and introduce them to the artwork of artists from all around the world and throughout history. 

Janet Corbin, Media Specialist
Ms. Corbin has 20+ years of experience in both public and private schools.  She received her bachelor's in elementary education from Salisbury University and her master's in school library media from Towson University.  She taught 3rd grade for ten years here at PES.  She is currently the media specialist at our school.  She believes that a child's success begins with learning to read for enjoyment and that this builds a lifelong love of reading.
