The Worcester County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in the Board Meeting Room at the Worcester County Board of Education Central Office located at 6270 Worcester Highway, Newark, MD.
The Board will convene at 10:00 a.m. to immediately consider voting to convene in closed session under General Provisions Art. § 3-305(b) of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The Board will reconvene in open session at 12:30 p.m.
The Board of Education meeting will be held in person, and in accordance with the State’s mask regulation for public schools and facilities, appropriate face masks are required for all entering the Board of Education building.
Please note that the Board of Education meeting room seating capacity is limited to ensure observance of physical distancing. The following procedures will be in place for members of the public:
• Two sign-in options will be available to attendees upon arrival: a sign-in to sit in the board meeting room and a sign-in to address the Board of Education during the Individuals/Delegations Comments portion of the meeting. Attendees can sign up for one or both options.
• Attendees wishing to sit in the meeting room will be granted access on a first-come, first serve basis, based on the order by which they signed in.
• A livestream of the meeting will be available for any individuals unable to be seated in the meeting room. To access the livestream, visit https://youtu.be/-V8p9S2SQgs.
• All attendees wishing to provide public comment during the Individuals/Delegations Comments portion of the meeting will be brought into the meeting room in the order by which they signed in. Below are the guidelines for the Individuals/Delegations Comments portion of the meeting:
• Individuals may address the Worcester County Board of Education for one to two minutes regarding information, commendations, or concerns, which may need future Board attention. Concerns that are specific to an individual will not be discussed in open session and should be directed to appropriate district personnel for investigation.
• Presentations to the Board requiring more time need to be scheduled through the Superintendent's office by the Thursday preceding the Board meeting in order that the item may be included on the agenda.
• When you are called to address the Board, please state your name, your address, and the school(s) your child(ren) attend before beginning your comments. A timer will be visible for you to know how much time you have remaining.
