‚Äč Anthony Allen

Mr. Allen graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, and holds his master's equivalency. In 2003, he was Walmart's Teacher of the Year as well as Pocomoke Elementary School's Teacher of the Year.  He has taught 2nd grade at PES since 1983.

In the community, Mr. Allen is a past officer of the Pocomoke Jaycees, and has been a care provider for the elderly for the last 22 years.

Lisa Ballance
Mrs. Ballance has been teaching second grade at Pocomoke Elementary School since 2004.  She is a graduate of Salisbury University, where she received a BA in elementary education. She received her master's degree from Old Dominion University in elementary education. She started her teaching career in 1997 in Accomack County, Virginia. In Virginia, she taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and a sheltered-English class.

Kathy Boggs
Mrs. Boggs has been teaching for 37 years.  She is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington where she received a BA in psychology with a K-3 teaching endorsement.  In 1987, she received her master’s degree from Salisbury University.  Mrs. Boggs spent 31 years teaching in Virginia in a variety of grades, including kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.  She was also a reading and math resource teacher for 6 years working in grades 1-5.  This is her sixth year of teaching for Worcester County Public Schools.

Elizabeth Brittingham

Ms. Brittingham graduated from Salisbury University in 2002 with a bachelor's in elementary education.  She began working for Worcester County Public Schools that same year as a reading resource teacher for Project Intervene at PES.  While here, she has taught both second and third grades. Ms. Brittingham received her master's from Salisbury University in reading in 2007.

Terri Sterling
Ms. Sterling has worked in public education for 40 years.  She has a bachelor's degree in education and sociology from Mary Washington College, and also possesses a master's equivalency.  She spent 23 years at Pocomoke Middle School as a 4th and 6th grade teacher.  In 2006, she came to Pocomoke Elementary School as a Project Intervene and resource teacher.  She is now part of our 2nd grade team!

Joy Taylor
Mrs. Taylor earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Salisbury University in education, with a certification in special education.  She has taught special education to students in grades K-3 for 37 years, all at Pocomoke Elementary.
