PBIS at PES: Creating a School-Wide Culture of Positive Behaviors
PBIS is the acronym for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. PBIS is a proactive approach to school-wide discipline. This initiative is meant to reinforce the positive behaviors of students doing what is expected of them, as well as supporting students who need extra assistance to reach the school-wide expectations of Respect Yourself, Respect Others, and Respect Property. In principle, we are consistently defining, teaching, reinforcing, and monitoring positive behaviors.

We recognize students for exhibiting the three PBIS school-wide rules in a variety of ways, such as Caught Being Good Stickers, Positive Office Referrals, Car Rider Cash, Bus Bucks, and our new initiative, Brave Bucks. In addition to the verbal praise students obtain for demonstrating positive behavior, they also have the opportunity to visit our school's PBIS Store to purchase items using their "money" they collected throughout the school day. Most of the items in our store are supplied by donations from local businesses. If you or someone you know would like to donate items to stock our PBIS School Store, please contact the school. In addition to the store, PBIS hosts bi-monthly events for students choosing to spend their "money" on a ticket to attend the incentive.
