Welcome to Pocomoke Elementary

Pocomoke Elementary School is located in Pocomoke City, Maryland, next to the beautiful Pocomoke River. We serve 400 students in grades PreK through 3. The faculty of our school believes all children can learn. We focus on instruction and our considerable resources to make that belief a reality. Our school motto is: Better Today than Yesterday!

Mr. Browne is named Maryland's National Distinguished Elementary Principal for 2017!

We are so proud and excited to have our very own Mr. Michael Browne, named Maryland’s National Distinguished Elementary Principal for 2017!!  We’ve always known he was awesome, now everyone else does, too!  He was COMPLETELY surprised!  Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!  Check out more pictures in the Photo Gallery below!

We are extremely proud and honored to be named a 2016-2017 National Title I Distinguished School for the SECOND time in five years! PES has the BEST students who are always striving for excellence, not to mention the most AMAZING faculty & staff! Congratulations to Jenny Howard,
Pocomoke Elementary's Teacher of the Year!

Jennifer Howard, a Pocomoke High alum, earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education and her Master of Arts in School Counseling from Messiah College. In her seventh year of teaching general music at Pocomoke Elementary School, she strives to give each child an opportunity to be creative, unique and shine! A Nationally Certified Counselor, she believes the most important aspects of teaching are building positive relationships and fostering a safe and caring learning environment. Howard directs the PES Choir, is a mentor to university interns, leads the PES Relay for Life team, and is active on several school committees.
