Welcome to Pocomoke Elementary

Pocomoke Elementary School is located in Pocomoke City, Maryland, next to the beautiful Pocomoke River. We serve 400 students in grades PreK through 3. The faculty of our school believes all children can learn. We focus on instruction and our considerable resources to make that belief a reality. Our school motto is: Better Today than Yesterday!

“Read for Success!”

Pocomoke Elementary School is excited to announce an amazing opportunity for our Summer Academy student participants through our partnership with the Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Organization! As a 2018 recipient of the Summer Success Grant, teachers are provided with a wonderful classroom selection of high interest children’s books designed to encourage curiosity and exploration in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) focus areas. Hands-on activities are available to extend classroom reading selections and assist students in understanding and making personal connections to shared readings. Through our school’s partnership with RIF, Summer Academy student participants are invited to participate in the Books for Ownership Program. Each student will be provided opportunity to select six new high interest books of individual preference to expand in-home children’s libraries at no cost for parents! If you have any questions regarding this amazing opportunity, please contact Beverly Watson by phone at 410-632-5130 or email (BAWatson@mail.worcester.k12.md.us).
